How to design the cover glass of intelligent control devices?

Our lives have become more and more intelligent. Lighting, curtains, services and temperature etc. in hotels and home are all with intelligent control. As the “face” of intelligent control equipment, how to make your cover glass unique by design?

Today, we are going to share a cover glass used on a smart control device of a big brand.

First, it has a 2.5D arc edge design. The sleek edge design makes the whole product more three-dimensional, more vivid texture, and can enhances the visual effect. For the thickness, Gelivable recommends 2.0mm. The reason is that 1.1mm is too thin to be prominent enough, and 3.0mm is too thick. For 2.0mm glass, the 2.5D arc edge with R1.0mm is just the right one.

Secondly, it’s used the dead- front technology. All icons are printed with hidden effect, so that when the screen turn off, the entire surface is black; when the screen turn on, these icons are clearly visible. If this kind of off-screen aesthetics is a surprise that designers bring to consumers, then the “dead front glass” is a gift for designers.

Finally, it’s printed with anti-UV ink. The anti-UV ink from Gelivable has passed the anti-ultraviolet aging test for 1300 hours, and the ink never peel off and does not change color, which is equivalent to a scene under the simulated sunlight for 2 years. Therefore, whether it is in the outdoor sunshine cycle or the exchange process of glass subject to high and low temperatures, there is no need to worry about ink shedding and discoloration. The best proof for it’s quality is that Gelivabale has never received complaints from customers since it has developed anti-UV inks for 3 years.

As the important factor, the cover glass is the user’s first visual experience. Why not take a look at these good cases when you want to make your device different?

Gelivable hopes to share cover glass related information with those in need. If you find it useful, please follow us and share it~
